Taylor Swift, Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood are all in the running for the highly coveted role of Eponine in Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper’s big-screen version of “Les Misérables,” sources tell us. A source close to the film confirmed that the four actors have all auditioned for the role. Another said that Michele “knocked it out of the park” when the “Glee” star — who played Young Cosette in the Broadway show — recently performed for the “King’s Speech” director. But it will be a tough choice because each star has her own magic ingredient for the musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel. “Scarlett brings acting ability, and she can really sing,” said the source. “Evan Rachel Wood brings her indie cred.” And casting Swift would mark a major move over to Hollywood films for the pop star. The Working Title and Universal movie is already stocked with stars, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne and Geoffrey Rush.

Lea Michele’s big voice may have made her a star on Broadway and TV, but what really won us over was her gorgeous hair and flawless skin. The breakout star graces Allure‘s December cover and we asked her to reveal a few things that make her feel pretty:

Her favorite fragrance: “Aveda Body Chakra is the coolest thing ever. My scent is kind of musky.”

Her makeup must-have: “I always carry Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage with me.”

Her quick-hair trick: “For every day, I’ll shower, leave it wet, and slick it back in a ponytail. To go out, I let it get a little messy. No heat.”

Her skin secret: “I’m a big lover of Kate Somerville. I go to her for facials all the time in Los Angeles. And in New York, I’m a fan of [dermatologist] Pat Wexler. I used to have bad skin growing up, and she really helped me. I also love Chanel face wash.”

Watertower Music has announced a soundtrack album for Garry Marshall’s ensemble comedy New Year’s Eve. The album includes a number of songs from the movie by artists, including Jon Bon Jovi, actress Lea Michele, Kate York, Goo Goo Dolls, P!nk, Katie Herzig, Charles Brown, Duncan and Sophie B. Hawkins. The soundtrack will be released on December 6, 2011. None of the original score by John Debney is included on the album, but a separate score album might be released at a later date (just as with Marshall’s previous movie Valentine’s Day).
