Lea Michele enjoys holiday ‘fireworks’
Lea Michele thoroughly enjoys her annual family Christmas “traditions”.
The 25-year-old Glee star prefers to spend the holidays in her native New York City with her kinfolk every year.
A frosty frolic through the park with her family close at hand puts a huge smile on Lea’s face.
“Every year my family and I go to Central Park,” Lea explained. “There’s a band and fireworks and it’s a big tradition for us.”
Although she enjoys time off, hardworking Lea can’t wait to crack on with her New Year’s resolutions in 2012.
The actress is determined to realise her ambitions in the New Year, even if it means making a big effort.
“[My main] New Year’s resolution is to keep working, doing things that are challenging, exciting and enjoyable. Maybe that will get me closer to playing my idols, Natalie Wood or Barbra Streisand,” she laughed.

The cast of the hit musical series “Glee,” including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch, sat down with host James Lipton Dec. 18 for an upcoming episode of “Inside the Actors Studio.”
Among the cast and creative team members who were present for the 7 PM taping were Michele, Morrison, Lynch, Corey Monteith, Chris Colfer and creator Ryan Murphy, according to “Inside the Actors Studio.”
“Inside the Actors Studio” is taped at the Schimmel Theater on Pace University’s New York City campus.
A representative for “Inside the Actors Studio” said the episode will air this spring on Bravo TV.
Lea Michele Up For PETA Award
peta2, PETA’s youth division, is giving teens the opportunity to vote for their favorite animal-friendly stars in its sixth annual Libby Awards (“Libby” is for “liberation”), which honor animal-friendly people and products. Visitors to peta2.com can vote for their favorites in each category, and peta2 will choose the winners.
In the category of Top Animal-Friendly Celebrity, Glee star Lea Michele—who stood up for horses used to pull carriages in New York City—will face off against Jackass’s Steve-O, who protested outside the Edmonton Valley Zoo to call on zoo officials to allow Lucy (the ailing and lone elephant there) to retire to an elephant sanctuary; Victorious star Daniella Monet, who filmed an exclusive video for the peta2 Street Team promoting “Hug a Vegetarian” Day; and Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta, who fought to defend his title of peta2′s Sexiest Vegetarian on Twitter and Facebook, and who also starred in a peta2 anti-fur ad.
