Lea Michele Covers ‘My Favorite Things’ on the 45th Anniversary Edition of ‘The Sound of Music’

In May, we told you about Lea Michele’s Dove Hair Care commercial in which she covers, ‘My Favorite Things.’ Well, now Glee fans everywhere can find the song on the ‘The Sound of Music: 45th Anniversary Edition,’ which is due out tomorrow.

That’s right, Gleeks. No more hitting replay and refresh on your computer — you can now rock the song on your iPod. The updated soundtrack features all 23 tracks from the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, plus Lea’s special rendition of one of the film’s most famous songs.

Although the commercial first hit the Web six months ago, Dove has been running a shortened version of it on TV, which kicks off right at the beginning of Lea’s number. Rachel Berry would be oh-so-proud.

We’re really not surprised by the New York native’s involvement with the anniversary soundtrack. Before her stint on Glee, the 24-year-old was a Broadway actress, starring in productions like Les Misérables, Fiddler on the Roof and Spring Awakening.

Check out Lea’s studio recording of ‘My Favorite Things’ below, and listen to the entire ‘The Sound of Music: 45th Anniversary Edition’ here. The album will be available in stores and on iTunes on November 2. source

“You see this cool, sophisticated girl, but she is sexy and modern at the same time,” Zee told “Extra.” “She knows how to play up her assets.”

Lea Michele

Newcomer Lea Michele’s mane has impressed us almost as much as her singing. She’s currently sporting a chunky fringe and we’re predicting there’ll be a few copycats around very soon.
