Michele left with back problems from Glee routines
Glee star Lea Michele suffers for her art – the hit U.S. show’s energetic dance numbers have left her with recurring back spasms.
The 23 year old plays wannabe actress Rachel Berry in the popular musical comedy, which is based around an all-singing, all-dancing choir at a fictional Ohio high school.
And the tough routines have taken their toll on the former Broadway star, who has been left with damaged back muscles.
But Michele insists she can learn to live with the condition – because her job is so much fun.
She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “We all did this one dance number a couple of weeks ago that was extremely gruelling. Now I have back spasms every so often. I’ll be talking and be like, ‘Excuse me a minute,’ and my back will just spaz out. And then I’ll be fine. But we ignore it because we’re all just happy doing what we do. We don’t pay attention to our injuries.”
EDIT: From jaymcb @ gleeforum:
“On the Daily Ten today they said they spoke to Lea’s rep and they say this story is not true. She’s had some bumps and bruises but she is not in pain.”

That’s awful! Poor Lea :( They really overwork those poor kids! I really hope she’ll be okay.

I feel like this was probably taken out of context and blown out of proportion. She rode Splash Mountain and Disneyland a few days ago. Clearly it’s disrupting her life THAT badly. Maybe she just pulled a muscle and it lasted a few weeks. Who knows.

Alex,
Just because there are pics of her riding Splash Mountain, doesn’t mean she still doesn’t have back spasms…jeez. Like, who says people with back spasms can’t go have fun at a park? I bet that’s the reason she got to go anyway instead of work was maybe they felt bad for overworking all of them and gave them like, ONE day off to go to Disneyland LOL

No need to get defensive. I wasn’t criticizing anything but the journalism. We also have no idea if/when she spoke those words. If I’m not mistaken OK! magazine is a UK tabloid.
Also – I watched the Daily 10 (and this post was edited)and my assumptions were correct.
